Insects need a home, and you can help them by fully crafting your own insect hotel. This offers insects multiple species the opportunity to hibernate and nest. Insects perform many tasks in our gardens. They pollinate plants, act as natural pest control and as such are an important part of ecological gardening.

When finished, hang the hotel in a sunny and dry place at a height of about 5-6 feet, making sure the holes are fully visible from the front. To ensure that insects use the hotel, it is helpful if there is clay, sand and water nearby.
